That’s my son, Az and I back in Brisbane, Australia just a few days before we left to return to PNG. It was a mixed bag for him as he was excited but sad as he was leaving 2 years of self-building, through experience, trial & error, friend shipping and other per-adolescent activities. As is the case with most kids he accepted and went back with an open mind.
It’s funny returning back to PApua New Guinea after 2 and a half years studying in Australia. There is such a contrast between the 2 cultures and entering into one or re-entering into the other can be a bumpy ride. I don’t think either society is perfect but what I can try to do is make some observations comparatively between both and see if they gel or repel.
